Clear aligners in Lakeland

Aligners are thin clear trays made from a scan of your teeth. Each set moves the teeth a little, and you switch sets on a schedule.

Who aligners suit

Aligners treat many of the same problems as braces. They work only while they are in, so they suit patients who will wear them about 22 hours a day, as the orthodontist directs, and take them out only to eat, drink anything but water, and brush.

Aligners for teens

A teen who forgets the trays finishes later than a teen in braces. If that sounds likely, braces may be the better choice, and we will say so.

How visits work

We check progress every few months and hand you the next sets. Some patients need small tooth colored bumps on a few teeth so the trays can grip. They come off at the end.

Planned by an orthodontist

Dr. Breckett plans every case from your scan and X-rays and examines you at each check. That matters most when the bite, not only the front teeth, needs to change.

Questions about clear aligners

Can I eat with aligners in?

No. Take them out to eat or drink anything but water, then brush before you put them back.

Are aligners more expensive than braces?

It depends on the case. Your written plan lists the fee for each option side by side.
